PLUGGY @ ICT & Cultural Heritage Workshop 2018

The event was organized by the EC in Brussels, Belgium on 14th of November 2018 and its focus was to explore possible future digital based research and innovation activities on European Cultural Heritage in the framework of the next work programme. The workshop managed to gather about 50 renowned experts from different stakeholders engaged in the field of the interaction of Cultural Heritage with digital technologies.

PLUGGY @ Euromed 2018

PLUGGY, along with other 16 EU projects related to cultural heritage, participated in the Cultural Informatics workshop on the 3rd of November 2018. The workshop took place during the International Conference on Digital Heritage Euromed 2018  that was held in Cyprus on 29th October-3rd November 2018.The aim of this workshop was to bring together projects, research groups, stakeholders, independent researchers and practitioners who are active in the broader area of cultural informatics in order to present the current state of affairs, discuss open challenges faced by each one and explore possible collaborations. PLUGGY 5th Plenary Meeting in London

The 5th PLUGGY plenary meeting was held on 12 – 13 June 2018 in London, UK. The two-day project meeting was hosted by PLUGGY’s partner, the Imperial College of London, in the Dyson Building at South Kensington Campus.
20 colleagues representing all 9 partner organisations gathered to discuss project latest developments, brainstorm, exchange ideas and agree on next steps.

PLUGGY shares its Augmented Reality tools

In conjunction with the international Engineering & Product Design Education Conference, and the EU PLUGGY project, Imperial College and Royal College of Art are hosting a free co-design workshop for participants to co-create cultural experiences based on the rich design and innovation history of Albertopolis using the tools for augmentation created by PLUGGY.
Imperial College London and RCA are both located on land gifted to the UK from profits made from the groundbreaking Great Exhibition of 1851. This event was a significant landmark in the history of design. Read More

“Η2020 EU Cultural Heritage projects: collaboration possibilities”: A Workshop that succeeded in gathering the most brillant EU projects in the field of cultural heritage.
The European H2020 projects “EMOTIVE: Storytelling for Cultural heritage” and “CrossCult: Empowering reuse of digital cultural heritage in context-aware crosscuts of European history” organised an EU projects’ workshop in order to explore possible collaborations between EU funded projects relevant to Cultural Heritage. PLUGGY’s partner TUK, the Technical University of Košice, attended the Opening Conference of EU project REACH, presenting a poster about PLUGGY and sharing experience at a networking session that gathered experts from the international cultural heritage field.
REACH Opening Conference took place in Budapest, on 10-11 May 2018, hosted at the Hungarian National Museum. The event was organised under the coordination of Eötvös Loránd University. Read More

PLUGGY at EU project’s ViMM Project’s Milestone Event in Berlin

The ViMM consensus building event in Berlin on 12 and 13 April, 2018, involved 100+ experts in Digital Cultural Heritage in reshaping and helping prioritise over 40 Propositions for the ViMM Manifesto and Roadmap on the future of Digital Cultural Heritage in Europe.
PLUGGY’s Coordinator, the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems (ICCS) had the chance to be there and exchange knowledge and expertise in ViMM’s Thematic Area 2 final consolidation meeting. Read More
