PLUGGY @ EuroVR 2018

A poster entitled “3D Object Rotation Using Virtual Trackball with Fixed Reference Axis” was presented by the University of Malaga (UMA) at the Poster Session of the EuroVR 2018 conference which was held in London, UK on 22-23rd October 2018. The poster demonstrates an experimental study on 3D interaction techniques to examine virtual objects using the mouse. Read More

PLUGGY @ European Researchers Night Event in Athens

PLUGGY participated in the European Researchers night in Athens, an event organized by the National and Technical University of Athens (NTUA) at the “Averof” building, the historical building of the university, on Friday 28 September and it was a tremendous success. PLUGGY was hosted in a room with a capacity of approximately 100 people, which was literally full, from the beginning until the end of the event. Visitors had the chance to get informed about the project and most importantly, to experience PLUGGY’s Augmented Reality app with the help of ICCS partners. PLUGGY @ UNESCO UK Memory of the World Documentation Inscription Awards in London

Pluggy participated in a mini fringe, where several research groups displayed their research related to cultural heritage, which was organized as part of the UNESCO UK Memory of the World Documentation Inscription Awards.
The event was hosted by the Imperial College London on the 19th September 2018 and brought together over 200 delegates from the worlds of science, culture, government and heritage, including ministers and local dignitaries, members of institutions, UNESCO UK and funding bodies, Imperial’s President Alice Gast, members of the Senior Management Team, Faculty and Departmental Heads and members of the Governing Body..

PLUGGY’s Collaborative Game App spread joy in Italy

Two innovative treasure hunts were organized by PLUGGY’s partner XTeam in order to get evaluation on PLUGGY’s Collaborative Game App in two beautiful Italian cities, this fall. The first entitled ‘’The return of the cursed mask’’ took place in Venice, Italy on 15th September 2018, with the participation of about 40 people who uncovered the watery wonderland of the city. Few days later, on the 29th September 2018, about 80 people participated in the second treasure hunt with the title ‘’The Leonardo’s lost page’ was held in Milan, Italy. Read More

PLUGGY @ E&PDE18 (International Conference on Engineering & Product Design Education)

In conjunction with the international Engineering & Product Design Education Conference, and the EU PLUGGY project, Imperial College and Royal College of Art hosted a free co-design workshop entitled ‘Co-creating augmented cultural experiences in Albertopolis’ on 5th of September 2018 for participants to co-create cultural experiences based on the rich design and innovation history of Albertopolis using the tools for augmentation created by PLUGGY. PLUGGY @ Silversmithing museum of PIOP

Silversmithing museum of PIOP in Ioannina, Greece welcomed and hosted PLUGGY between 17th and 27th of July 2018. For ten days, visitors of the museum had the chance to experience and evaluate PLUGGY’s augmented functionality and features. People of all ages digitally explored a selection of silver gilt artifacts and PLUGGY team measured the app’s usability and effectiveness. The interest of the visitors was so fruitful, especially among the school students who were thrilled by the AR app, that the event immediately became one of the most popular, cultural events of the summer. PLUGGY 5th Plenary Meeting in London

The 5th PLUGGY plenary meeting was held on 12 – 13 June 2018 in London, UK. The two-day project meeting was hosted by PLUGGY’s partner, the Imperial College of London, in the Dyson Building at South Kensington Campus.
20 colleagues representing all 9 partner organisations gathered to discuss project latest developments, brainstorm, exchange ideas and agree on next steps.
